The vicious murder of a prominent politician sends a shockwave through the Caribbean island of Avariss as Commissioner Sam Dillon and his officers try desperately to find both the motive and the murderer.

Was the death the result of domestic strife, greed and jealousy? Was the victim involved in shady dealings with an American businessman with Mafia connections, or could there be links to the major fraud that led to the recent collapse of the Avariss Island Bank and sparked an international investigation? These and other lines of enquiry are pursued by the Avariss Police in their painstaking efforts to bring the murderer to justice.

Startling news of a second death complicates the enquiry but soon the police begin to narrow their search.

But things may not be as they appear. Is this a contract killing and, if so, who is behind it? Who paid the murderer, and why?

Set against a tropical background, this is a story of crime, corruption and political intrigue from a writer with knowledge of the Caribbean and its way of life. A Body Politic is the second book in the Caribbean Trilogy and the sequel to Paradise Mistaken also available from Trafford Publishing. The third book in the trilogy will follow in 2008.

About the Author

Born in Guildford, UK, Tony Grey is a retired police officer. He became a constable at the age of twenty and, in a career spanning more than thirty years, worked in various departments, gaining first-hand experience of the many interesting facets of police work and undertaking a number of high-profile investigations. He was promoted through the ranks to become a chief officer at the age of thirty-nine and went on to become a Commissioner of Police in the Caribbean.

Since retirement he has worked as an international consultant on policing and writes crime novels. Set in the Caribbean, his stories are based upon real-life incidents and experiences.
