About the Book
Sebastian Blake is a successful investment broker, unmarried and living in Reading, England. After the painful loss of those he loved, he is reluctant to embark on another relationship. That is, until he meets Suyin Carter.
Since childhood Sebastian has been fascinated by stories about tropical islands. On a sudden impulse, he visits the Thai Embassy in London to enquire about purchasing an island in Thailand. Here he meets Suyin Carter, a beautiful and sensuous Thai woman who is married to an Englishman, Jeremy.
Ten days later, Jeremy dies of a heart attack and Suyin returns to Thailand on compassionate leave. Sebastian flies out to Thailand and contacts Suyin. He invites her to accompany him to Koh Samui and Phuket, two islands in southern Thailand. They spend several days exploring the islands, catching butterflies and discovering that true love is the only glimpse we have of heaven.
However, on the morning of 26th December 2004 Sebastian leaves Suyin at their hotel in Phuket to explore some islands to the north. When he returns, he finds that a massive tsunami has struck the Phuket. Sebastian spends six agonising days searching for Suyin, visiting hospitals, clinics and morgues.
Meanwhile, Suyin, after receiving a blow on the head in escaping the tsunami, has been lying unconscious in one of the many makeshift clinics. After six days she emerges from her coma.
But where is Sebastian? She knows he would never desert her.
Nor will she desert him. But fate has other plans!
