About the Book

This book is an interesting collection of short stories, all based in Ireland and running the gamut from politics to horseracing to murder to romance to humor and much more. The title story is about an heroic Irish patriot whose love for his country is shown in his classroom and in everything he does.

You will laugh aloud at the antics of Claude and Deirdre, two strange star crossed lovers, in three stories that follow their on and off romance.

You'll be there at the finish line at the running of the Cheltenham Gold Cup as an Irish horse who was seen to have little potential stuns the horseracing world.

About the Author

Jim Skelly was born in New York City and moved to Arizona with his wife, Joanie, and their two sons over forty years ago. He spent twenty years as an elected member of the Arizona House of Representatives. Among the many anti-crime laws he sponsored was one requiring long, mandatory sentences for convicted child molesters and others who prey on innocent children. He and his wife are retired and vacation regularly in Ireland. He is the author of two previous books of short stories set in Ireland, Matt and Annie and The World Champion.
