When April learns that her childhood sweetheart Max has chosen to marry the daughter of one of the wealthy backers of his senate campaign, she decides not to tell him she is pregnant. Being knowledgeable of campaigns she leaves for Washington D.C. to seek employment and new life. On the trip she meets a senators wife and they exchange seats on the plane. During landing at Reagan Airport, the plane skids on the ice and crashes. Betty, the senator's wife is killed. April survives and Jason Stewart believes her to be his wife. During her long hospital stay and reconstructive surgery April decides to become Betty. This way she can have a father for her baby. Meanwhile Max arrives in D.C. having won his seat in the Senate. There is no way April can avoid Max and Serena. When the baby arrives he is a clone of Max, Jason becomes the proud father. Together they build a comfortable life and the mystery continues. He never questions April/Betty. Even when the father of Betty dies in Colorado and April has to go there, she is met with many mysteries. Eventually the secret service begins an investigation and learns April secret, but it is kept safe. When Max's wife is killed and he has no family, he starts trying to find out if Jason's son is his. There are many twists and turns in this mystery as deceptions are uncovered and Jason Jr becomes involved in a tangled web.


About the Author

Ms Regel currently resides in Elizabeth City, NC. She is the mother of four and grandmother of three. Born in an impoverished area in Missouri, she went to Washington, DC after graduating high school to work for the government. There she met and married her husband James (Scotty) Regel and they had forty seven years together before his death in 2003. Retiring from the Navy in 1974 the family settled in Maryland and MS Regel obtained her BS in Business Administration from the UNIV of Maryland after eight years of night classes. Only then did she begin her dream of writing.
