About the Book

This book contains a distillation of 15 years of items extracted from numerous sources that tend to lean ÔrightÕ and were accumulated for the authorÕs personal use to help me improve my understanding and defense of conservative thought, which it has accomplished. Friends have asked for copies of these notes so often that I decided to publish the material as the simplest solution. Many of the items are statistical in nature and could be perceived to be conservative. But facts are facts. As someone once said, you can have your own opinion but not your own facts. With over 1,500 separate entries (all chronologically presented to help time frame the entries and help reflections on progress made or not). The book is a quick and easy read

About the Author

James A. Yannes was born in Fulton, N.Y. in 1935 making him both a ÒDepressionÓ baby and a member of the ÒSilentÕ generation, born during an era of depression and war. More than any other generation, they quietly went from the bread line to affluence. A U.S. Army veteran and an engineer by training with a companion degree in Psychology, he spent some 34 years in the private sector with the latter 20 years in the marketing of technically advanced communication systems to the International market. Retired for the past 14 years, his focus has been on the optimization of the management of investments which is best done from a factual base as opposed to an emotional base. In addition, he has had the time and desire to collect germane observations of our political, social, economic and moral oscillations from the conservative side Age and experience has led inevitably to an emphasis on conservation and thus conservatism.
