About the Book

This book contains a variety of recipes, desserts, pies, cakes, cookies and numerous entrees. Some of them are very old - recipes that our grandparents used. We certainly don't want these recipes to become a thing of the past and lose our heritage. So I have compiled a lot of them I know you will enjoy using. There are many more which may be used as a sequel later if there is enough public demand. While you are making something from this book, take a moment and talk to your children about your ancestors, they will be impressed and want to continue to do further research - and what better way than through the art of cooking.

About the Author

I grew up on a farm in Nebraska where I lived for over 50 years. Being semi-retired we moved to Kansas City to be close to our daughter, where we now reside. My first experience in cooking was when I was eight years old. My mother thought it was time I learned how to cook. I remember my grandfather and grandmother had come for a visit and mother had me make melt in your mouth baking powder biscuits. Everyone was wild about them, so launched my cooking career. Being married to a farmer since I was 18 also furthered my baking skills. Everything was made from scratch, since packaged foods weren't readily available during the years right after the war.When you cook for farm hands who have been stacking hay and other field work, you learn to cook a lot and make it good. I really enjoy cooking for company and especially to make pies and other mouthwatering desserts, which you will find when you purchase a copy of Lost or Forgotten Recipes.
