About the Book

Jeannie had been told by her doctor that she needed to lose weight. A hundred pounds! This story details how she accomplished that feat ... and medical difficulties that followed. During 2003, the year after her weight loss, she had a tummy tuck and thigh lift to remove excess skin, emergency gall bladder surgery, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had Gamma Knife surgery, had a hysterectomy to remove the largest fibroid tumor the local hospital had ever seen, suffered Grand Mal seizures, and had brain surgery. How her friends and family pulled together creating a synergy of love strong enough to get her through is a heart-warming story. This is a story of love, caregiving, and the remarkable recovery from a series of medical challenges.

About the Author

Kathy lives in Pollock Pines, California, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She has had Breast Cancer, and her husband had Lymphoma - both of these events gave her insights to caregiving requirements. Her work history includes a career with a local government in a managerial position. This experience plus the other caregiving experiences in her life prepared her for coordinating her best friend's care.
