About the Book

First of all, some questions I would like to ask: Are you tired of reading poems that doesn’t make your heart skip a beat, well these ones will. Do you want to take up a book you can never put down until you have absorbed everything?

A book, that will make you utter “Man, this is a great book!?” Or a book where there are great poems one after the other? This book speaks mostly about anything and everything you can think of.

It will hold you to your seat or make you stand on your feet, which ever excites you. It’s a book of talked about chapters which we normally want to read about ? This book has in it: God—and His love for us. This book speaks about lost, love, betrayal, beauty, romance ecstasy, nature and life! It has short love scenes, the juicy part for sharing with the Mrs. A chapter that you can use to tell a lady how beautiful she is or having just to say how much you love her or him. The words in this book are so put together and parable. This book will also tell you about some life experiences experienced by people like yourself. You ever watched a movie and you’ll watch it again and again? It’s this book, with characters, which leap off the page.

There’re poems in here that you’ll take to heart as soon as you read; there’s a poem in this book for everyone and most of all a poetry book, if you purchase, you would feel it was worth spending your money on! The Work of a True Bahamian, written by a Bahamian.

About the Author

Nelson Mackey was born in Lowe’s Sound. He left there when he was five and was raised in North Mastic Point, Andros; the biggest island of the 700 islands of the Bahamas. When he knew he wanted to be a writer is when his essay was read by his former English teacher in front of the classroom, when few of his former classmates sobbed with him as it was read. It was an essay on the death of his five-year-old cousin, who died during a hurricane in Great Harbour Cay.

A once-immature poet, at the age of 16 and up … few of his poems are found in books of: International Library of Poetry an ANTHOLOGY SERIES and are also found on their website: As an up-and-coming poet, Immature to mature!

This will now be his second book. He appeared a few times on a ZNS, television show called: Island Poets. Where he did standup, reciting his poems to a live audience. He now lives in Nassau: the capital of the Bahamas with his future wife, who he calls his wife.
