About the Book
This book is a study of the Biblical book of Hebrews. It is a guide for Christians who are chosen by God to be “royal priests.” It begins with a description of Jesus Christ who is the “high priest” over the believers. It tells how he guides his priests to save as many as possible from perdition. He does this using God’s ways and not man's way. Hebrews tells us how we do this great business in the courts of heaven and not on the earth. The methods are all by faith and not by man’s clever schemes and intelligence. This high calling has some caveats which warn us about being half-hearted or turning back once tasting the “powers of the world to come.”
A list of the heroes of the Old Testament who did exploits and miracles follows the warnings. The warning all through the book of Hebrews is to listen to the voice of the “good shepherd” who is the Son of God. The designation “royal priests” implies that the believer has already received a “kingdom.” Rewards are based upon how much we employ this “great salvation” in which God is not willing that any should perish but expects us to save as many as we can and will.
