About the Book
Seagulls Astray examines how young people make the transition from university student to career starter. Who will have an easier time of it; a Californian at loose ends in Japan, or a Tokyo coed tightly surrounded by family?
Alternately conforming to and rebelling against the demands of the red-hot 1970's Tokyo business establishment, they both feel like storm-tossed seagulls to the point where it's difficult to know which one has wandered more astray.
In classrooms, coffee shops, offices, boardrooms and bedrooms, they make their decisions and cultivate the relationships that ultimately define their lives.
