About the Book

IN THE BEGINNING

A long time ago...

Before there were Aztecs and before there were Spaniards.

A long time ago...

Before the star of Bethlehem shone brightly.

Before the Word was made of Flesh, and before the Lady was born.

Before Caesar crossed his Rubicon, and before Moses hurtles his Ten Commandments into the faces of the willful Israelites, a bright star catapulted from the heavens so far aloft and so untouchable, and began its destructive approach to the planet called Earth.

"How far you have fallen from Heaven, bright morningstar,

felled to the earth, sprawling helpless across the nations..."

Isaiah 14:12-15

A long, long time ago, so say indigenous natives of the Caribbean Islands and the Gulf of Mexico, a terrible and bright thing came from the skies in the form of a Being - like a fiery snake, and fell into the waters. It caused terrible earthquakes and violent volcanoes.

Noy only did it leave traces of nickel, iron pyrites and scorched rock, but it carried with it an evil portent that unobstrusively polluted the lands of Mesoamerica. The Prince of Darkness had come to prey upon the people of Mexico.
