About the Book
A woman who is a millionaire and think that she has everything, falls in love with a man who by her standards has very little, and discovers it is he who has everything and she has very little after coming into his world, and that materialism means very little, that what really counts in life are things that money can't buy, such as love of God and family, and become sublimely happy, and that she would not trade her former life for all the money in the world, and renounces materialism entirely.
About the Author
I was born in the little town of Independence, Lousiana, during the depression era. It was a beautiful time of life, when commaradarie and togetherness was a big thing. There was a general store in the town owned by a man named Tony Anzalone, who was a wonderful, warm, compassionate person and had a kind word and a helping hand for everyone. Without him and his store, I doubt that we would have survived. He sold everything from flow points to wedding gowns. During my time it was the most glorious, progressive time in history. I saw from the advent of Model "A" Ford, to the atomic bomb, computers and the sophisticated gadgetry and wizardry thats are present today. It was a time when people showed their joys, as well as their sorrows, when people cared about each other and visited. It was a time without drugs or AIDS or rape, or crime of any kind, and the jail was seldom used, except for the town drunk, and he was allowed to sober up and go home. It was a time when it didn't take two salaries to make ends meet, and the kids said yes sir, and no sir. It was a time that when you went to pick up a girl for a date, you did not blow the horn, but went in to meet her parents, and was properly dressed, "no thongs for sure". It was a time of trust and pride, and a handshake was a contract. My father's favorite phrase was: "Your word is your bond". He taught us the values that we live by today. It was a time of clay ovens and home-made bread, a time for togetherness, for prayer or politics or a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. I thank God for my parents and the enviroment they provided for me.
