About the Book
A scientific catastrophe causes the onset of the extinction of the human species. Professor Lord has entrusted his prodigy, MAX, to become the Function Commander of the IVF equipment programmed to reintroduce the human species through its unique technology.
MAX is installed as AI Function Commander within a mammoth parallel processing computer and the complex IVF project is well within their joint capability. MAX wallows in the assurance that the program will continue unhindered towards the end-state that will finally produce his beloved mentor’s dream.
But Mother Nature intervenes. And suddenly MAX has a problem. A compromise to the protected laboratory atmosphere causes moisture to enter the remote Cayman Islands lab. The moisture begins to attack metallic mechanisms on the IVF incubator equipment operative within. Mechanisms begin to rust, then jam, and finally the equipment becomes totally defunct. The project becomes a dismal failure through no fault by MAX.
But MAX assumes accountability. And so he must become inventive. A talent he learns through experimentation, frustration and passive diligence. The replacement equipment he needs is mothballed in Australia. But he is located within a computer in the Caribbean!
But MAX has a plan. He must orchestrate through networking the talents of other cyber colleagues to solve this dilemma. But frustration lies ahead. His intentions are often misunderstand or his contacts have their own agendas and hamper his project progress.
This is a cautionary fable of our times in the guise of suspenseful, intriguing science fiction and how adversity may be turned against itself.
