About the Author

The author although an Electrical Engineer always had the affinity to write, and as a young man did. Then the wars (World War II, Korea, and other considerations changed his mind. College and work for a living occupied him for many years and only in 1996 he sat down on his computer and wrote ÒNever a Straight Path,Ó to engrave in stone what was only a memory. His first novel in Czech language, which he wrote at the age of 17, was confiscated by the Czech organ of state security, as was his property after his escape across the border of the fortified Iron Curtain in 1948. He entered the U.S. in 1951 and became a U.S. citizen. He was drafted during the Korean war, but served in Europe because of his knowledge of Eastern European languages including German. He was supposed to have joined the counter intelligence service of th U. S. Army, but fate directed him in a different direction. After he wrote his first full length novel in 1996, he wrote twelve more. Four were published by Trafford. ÒNever a Straight Path.Ó ÒWhatever I Touch,Ó ÒA.J. Memories of Grandma Doris,Ó and A Short History of an Elks Lodge, He is now writing his thirteenth novel titled ÒThe Ballad of The Orphan Girl.Ó
