About the Book
This collection of fictional stories written in the Spanish language subtly attempts to deal with issues of communication, formal and informal, in different facets of life. Mixing fantasy and reality, humor and seriousness, the author has tried to elicit some reflections on how and why we share our perception of the world with others. Would relationships work if we had to "talk" through memos? How would our sense of privacy be affected if other people could simultaneously dream our dreams? Should we invite people to be present at divorces just as they are at weddings? And many others. Memoranda, e-mails, advertisements, eulogies, newspaper chronicles, dialogues and even legal materials are used to convey information not usually associated with the communicational format chosen. The contrast between form and message highlights McLuhan's dictum: "The media is the message". Really?
