About the Book
Bob Dylan, The Man With A Vision is a book of poetry. Some of the poems here are written about Mr. Bob Dylan. Mr. Dylan is not only a musician; he is a mentor, guide and teacher. Men like him come only once in a lifetime. He changed the theme of traditional music into a powerful tale of life. There are about 15 poems written on Mr. Dylan. Other poems are written on recent events; the September 11th tragedy, Mothers, Love, Separation, Accidents; poems against drugs, alcohol, war etc.; poems about the Staten Island Ferry accident and everything else in our daily life. These poems are prolific. Everyone has, in some way, encountered these situations in their life.
About the Author
Khalid Reza was born in Bangladesh in 1959. He got his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. From his very childhood he used to like the poems of William Wordsworth and John Keats. In 1969, he discovered Mr. Bob Dylan, who changed his thinking about the world. The world, which was full of hypocrisy, war and nuclear/biological threats, racism and corruption. He feels from his heart that Mr. Dylan's words are the same thing that he was thinking. Khalid thinks everyone is born free. No one has any right to kill anyone. We are human beings; everybody has the same rights to live in respect and dignity. As a fan of Mr. Dylan, he learned to play guitar and harmonica and gave it a try singing Bob Dylan's songs.
Khalid Reza started collecting all his poems together when he came to America back in 1998 and kept writing. Finally he did that - as a result, Bob Dylan, The Man With A Vision Poetry Collections Book. With the great help and inspiration of his wife Afroza Begum, daughters Zuaera Bushra, Nadia Khalid and Insherah Khalid- all that was impossible became possible. Reza resides in New York with his family. He loves New York, especially Queens. He promises he will keep writing.
