About the Book

Written from a paranormal investigator’s point of view, There Are Ghosts in Our World offers a unique perspective of the spirit world. By looking equally at the conditions that may cause actual spirit activity as well as those that create false perceptions of it, David Manch gives a balanced look into the world of ghostly haunting and things that go bump in the night.

There Are Ghosts in Our World examines the often overlooked conditions that arise from normal everyday aspects of life and create the illusion of paranormal activity. From the various sleep disorders, to the effects of prescription medications, there are many things that cause people to believe they are being visited by otherworldly spirits. Manch also offers a fresh perspective into the role that mold plays in reports of paranormal activity.

Included in There Are Ghosts in Our World is a look at the haunted town of Gettysburg, PA, as well as lesser known locations such as Dana, MA, Madame Sherrie’s Castle in Chesterfield, NH, and the Brattleboro, VT Retreat Tower and cemetery.

Written so that the novice and seasoned investigator alike will appreciate it, There Are Ghosts in Our World is sure to please the casual reader as well by introducing different aspects of paranormal activity that aren’t typically included in many books on the paranormal.

About the Author

David Manch was born in New England and grew up listening to stories about strange activity occurring in the antique shop of a family friend. This inspired Dave to learn more about the paranormal and to study it firsthand in an effort to discover what it truly is. Dave‰*ªs research of the paranormal began in earnest after an experience of his own in 1990, and he culminated that research by forming Southern New Hampshire Paranormal, a group dedicated to studying the effects of history and environment on the paranormal. In his many travels, Dave met Mike Dion, and soon became a member of New England Paranormal, eventually rising to the position of Case Manager with the group. Dave has been fortunate to participate in many investigations with New England Paranormal and TAPS, The Atlantic Paranormal Society. Under Southern New Hampshire Paranormal, Dave encourages public participation in paranormal investigations he leads (at no charge to the participants) at various historic locations. Having majored in biochemistry at the University of New Hampshire, Dave later honed his investigating skills while working as a full-time police officer in Vermont and New Hampshire for more than six years.
