An ancient sect has secretly been practicing human selection breeding for centuries and today uses modern genetic information to actively pursue eugenic goals reminiscent of the efforts of the Nazis who wanted to breed a super race. A brilliant but fame-hungry genetic scientist and his team make a breakthrough which enables them to use natural neuroproteins to influence and manipulate human behavior, among others, religious and sexual behavior. Secret experimentation with animal and human subjects confirmed that transgenically produced proteins could also be used destructively to induce diseases with similar symptoms as well-known genetic diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s. These discoveries provide terrorists with the most destructive weapon the world has ever seen. This poses a new global threat in the hands of any latter-day dictator.

The discovery has serious implications for the security of the USA, forcing the discoverer’s university to ask a team of experts to confirm the findings before going public. The team members die mysteriously one after another as they stumble across sensitive information. Only one of them, Doctor Steven Forbes, manages to survive and is able to uncover the role of the ancient sect. Forbes joins forces with Amelie, a bright, young French student in political history, who shares his apartment and Nancy, a beautiful biochemist from Cambridge who manages to stir his passion. Together they decipher and follow the mysterious trail of the sect from the times of Vlad, the Impaler to the Saxons in Transylvania and on to modern-day Germany. With each revelation comes another twist or surprising turn in events….

He has received prestigious research grants and awards in science. The National Research Foundation rates him as a scientist who enjoys wide international recognition in his field. He has published many research papers in international science journals. He has traveled widely and developed an extensive network of international collaboration in several countries. He is a member of several national and international scientific societies and serves on the editorial boards of scientific journals. He has a keen interest in the role of human impacts on the environment. He is passionate about conserving the world‰*ªs rich biodiversity and uses his scientific knowledge as background to write fiction.
