About the Book
Ricky and Silver Splash A lovely little fish suddenly jumps up out of the water right in front of Ricky, who is waiting for his dad to take him fishing. Surprised and curious the boy starts a conversation with the fish. He calls the friendly fish: Silver Splash. Through the conversations, and also cruising around the lake with his dad, Ricky becomes aware of his surroundings, and finds out that the environment is in peril. He starts to think of ways how he, as a little boy, can help to preserve the beauty of the lake, the shores and all the creatures that depend on clean water, air and earth. He writes his: To Do List. And plans to tell about his fish at school for “Show and Tell.”
About the Author
Wobine Ishwaran was born in the Netherlands. During her childhood she lived in South Africa. Indonesia and the Netherlands. She met her husband, a PhD student from India, at the time she was studying to become a registered nurse. They married in India, had two children and then immigrated to Canada,where their youngest son was born. Wobine acquired a certificate in Early Childhood Education and taught for 26 years as a kindergarten teacher. After retirement she found a new direction in her life. She decided to start writing for children, because reading with children was one of her favorite pastimes. She loves art, reading, writing and traveling.
