The author recounts his wartime experiences on land and at sea, the torpedoing of his ship, actions at the Front in France, participation in the underground, imprisonment and escape to England and later service in the United States. This book covers the years 1939-1945.

About the Author

Daniel Barrick entered his adult life when still a teenager, having left his not too amicable Warsaw home after his father's remarriage, to join the Merchant Navy Academy in Poland. The war found him on board his ship during a training cruise in the Baltic. So began his many experiences amongst wartime duties. At war's end an innate artistic talent led to his becoming a graphic designer. A degree of writing facility brought on a new avocation after his retirement. A "cat person", he now livesin Texas and enjoys mild winters at the cost of very hot summers.
