About the Book

Labyrinth Productions presents Light Your Way, the beginning of a series of Gothic maze books designed to entertain and test the problem solving skills of readers between the ages of seven and fourteen years old.

Each segment begins with a short illustrated story, which presents the reader with a mystery that culminates with the reader trying to solve that mystery by going through an artful and challenging maze.

Illustrated instructions allow the reader to follow the maze to completion. Solutions are provided in the last chapter of the book.

The mazes are moderate difficulty (this depends on the age and ability of the reader) and required the reader to focus on the concepts presented in the instructions.

Solving the mazes enhances the reader's ability to take something two dimensional, in this case the mazes, and think in three-dimensional terms. They can be further developed, if the reader is encouraged to make their own illustrations, stories and mazes.

Since the mazes are in black and white, they can also be used as an art activity. Photocopying for personal use is encouraged since coloring directly in the book may degrade its aesthetic quality. Simply photocopy the illustrations or mazes that you wish to color (marker or colored pencil works best) and turn the maze or illustration into a color masterpiece!

Light Your Way lays a foundation for new books in the series since the stories and characters found in this issue will be developed in future issues.

This is a different type of maze book that is both challenging and fun. The quiet introspection that the text requires will help the reader develope valuable abstract reasoning skills important for intellectual growth.
