About the Book
"Valid thought is highly prized in the realm of serious mental illness. The ideas and thoughts that one has that are true, are more valuable than mainstream society can imagine. Truth is an observable fact of reality. Imagination can be fun. However, when truth and imagination are mixed with unyielding belief in their conjoined accuracy, trouble surmounts. This phenomenon is a perplexing facet of life. That is, a life affected by schizophrenia."
Life was just beginning for Donn in 1990: graduating from college with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, passing the state exam for his real estate license, and acceptance to a couple of law schools back East. He and his family had no idea what was happening as the symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia began invading his life. Life as he knew it promptly ended, just as it was about to begin. By graduation, taking nine months to reach full psychosis, Donn ended up in jail due to occurrences solely related to the symptoms of his illness. This book is the true story of one man's continued journey living with schizophrenia. Through his struggles and successes, one can begin to gain insight into the courage, determination, and control it must take to deal with the onset and reality of the day-to-day fight of living with paranoid schizophrenia.
