About the Book

The theme of the book is friendship, and travel, and during numerous continental journeys in an HGV, it could be said that it has taken many miles to write.

The book is about growing up in North Lincolnshire with its flat rolling countryside and muddy river Humber, and describes places and traditions which are fast disappearing.

Tall ships, an apprenticeship in boat building, and truck driving. Then later in life another journey tracing birth family and meeting relatives for the first time. Tracing one's ancestors has become a national pastime, but for some it is much more. The quest for true identity, is not only right, it is the proof of the uniqueness of our humanity.
