About the Book
Ross leaves his band. He moves into a friends farm house, to help look after some kids and meets Cal, (a talking calf). As he told his previous band, he will start another band, unlike any other, he is quick to join Cal into a band. He and Cal discover that Hannah (the problem child) has been lying to and poisoning her neighbours. Ross exposes Hannah's lies and deception over a neighbourhood bbq. As shocked as they are, the neighbour's take turns at singing and Hannah is brought to a stand still. There is a mad scientist in this book, who's been making the poisen for Hannah. She and Ross are the only ones who can understand Cal's talking. (To start with).
Later, Kim (a guitarist) is introduced. She can also understand Cal and Cal decides she'd like to be a real girl. Her and Ross are sent on a duck hunt. The duck is the last thing needed to enable her to become a real girl. There is a bit of disappointment, when at first it doesn't work. Then a lot of rejoicing when it does. And Cal turns into Megan. Ross meets some old school friends and joins an aerobic class. (The same one as Kim). Now is the hard part for Kim. (Trying to keep Cal turning into Megan, a secret). A few more bands are formed and a concert is put on at the end of the book. The book is concluded with a very interesting twist.
About the Author
I was hit by a car when I was 12 and left with a brain injury, resulting in a left paralysis, the loss of my left peripheral vision, social skills, sense of smell and temperature control. Which means I get really hot. I think I've come a long way. I can now play the drums, do aerobics, swim, go tramping and rock climbing etc... I really enjoy writing and I think Ross & Cal is absolutely my best material. I find writing peacfull. It's nice to get away from the busyness of life and just write. It's also nice to be able to put my imagination to work and my ideas on to paper.
