About the Author

Faster, faster, like a hamster in its wheel, running just to stand still. It's the norm isn't it, in the UK? That's how I saw myself for the last few years of my working life in England. A hamster in its wheel!

My partner Christine and I had a very good lifestyle in England. We lived in a large house with a huge garden up a private drive near the moors above Halifax. We took at least two good holidays a year and had two new cars on the drive.

Life couldn't be much better could it - of course it could!

We moved to the Costa del Sol during September 2001 and what a shock that was going to be. This book covers my own experiences and my observations of others. It covers buying and renting Spanish property, buying and running a bar, opening an advertising business, the lifestyle, and some of the scams which go on over here. You wouldn't believe it. There is someone on every street corner waiting to take your money away from you and many of them are Brits.

I wish the information in this book had been available to me prior to moving to Spain. I would, without doubt, have saved a fortune!
