About the Book

The Life I Was Born To Live is an entertaining and informative cross-cultural real-life story, remaining all of us that we donÕt have to "make it" to be successful. The story helps us to see our hectic and demanding lives from a spiritual perspective. It's about an adventuresome spirit and restless mind that didn't know the obstacles it faced in pursuing a profession, a lasting relationship or that finding settlement was just a necessary path of a spiritual evolution. After growing up in the most beautiful and peaceful Norwegian environment, the author ventures on through dramas onboard ships, becomes engrossed by corporate America, goes through the pain of divorces and learns about the life of the Headhunters, Peasants and Kathoys in South East Asia. It's also about feeling the freedom of letting go of attachments and security, relinquishing the struggle to succeed by shifting the focus from standard of living to quality of life, and understanding that everything happens for a reason.

About the Author

Bjørn Dimmen grew up in the small Norwegian town of Stranda and barley old enough to join the Norwegian Merchant Fleet, he left the mountains for the sea. Six years later, health problems forced him to change direction and he went back to school for a degree in Computer Engineering. After working a few years with Offshore Engineering Projects he aimed for Australia, but never reached his destination. Instead, he ended up in the US where he got a degree in Business Administration, had two daughters and entered the corporate America. After being saturated with corporate politics, he quit in the hope of making a living as a writer; however, dreams don't always come true in spite of a relentless struggle to succeed. When he finally gave up and moved back to Norway, he surrounded the helm to his spirit, which steered him in a direction so he could write this story. The Life I Was Born to Live is his first published work.
