About the Book

Eleven-year-old Michael Rossi is learning that life just isn't fair. Everything he tries seems to not work out correctly or is wrong. Each day he stumbles through school not sure if he understands anything he is being taught. His parents are always on him about his lack of concentration and his grades. He then notices his dad seems to be preoccupied with a problem he is having with his job. Michael is concerned, but doesn't know how to ask about it.

He finally finds out his dad is going to the Arctic to help set up a laboratory for studying global warming. Michael asked if he could go with him. His parents decide the whole family will go and make a "vacation" out of the trip.

Michael meets some very interesting people on the flight to the North Pole and then is the first to discover there is a problem. When he finds a bullet hole in one of the walls to the buildings, he thinks aliens have invaded. But, it turns out to be agents from a hostile country.

When his dad discovers the buildings they are living in are going to be destroyed by the enemy agents, he takes Michael with him to investigate. Learn how Michael saves the lives of his friends and family as well as possibly stopping World War III.

About the Author

Mark Barita lives in Woodbridge, Virginia with his wife and three children. He holds a BachelorÕs Degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Masters Degree from Nova Southeastern University. He has been a school teacher for ten years and is currently with the Prince William County school district in Northern Virginia.

The motivation for his book Out of the Blue comes from personal experiences as well as the daily issues surrounding the students he sees each day.

Out of the Blue is the first in a series of young adult, action and adventure books based on the adventures of the main character, Michael.
