This book presents the Bahá'í Faith as the newest chapter in the ongoing faith of the one and only God. Its aim is to acquaint readers with the message of the Bahá'í Faith, its history and its principles. It is directed to those who wish to explore the fundamental truths in religion and religious values, and who are willing to recognize truth wherever they find it. The book is suitable for individual and small group study, for use with classes on the Bahá'í Faith and comparative world religions. It is intended for serious and thoughtful people of senior high school age and older.

Despite the constant barrage of criticism besieging the American education establishment, and the problems of student social unrest, which tend to mirror conditions in the larger society, some good things are happening in the field of education.

Instruction in 'moral values' is seen in many elementary programs. At the secondary and college levels, the spread of course titles like 'Bible as Literature', 'Bible as History', or other comparative religion electives, has been increasing. Religions can teach and not proselytize..

About the Author

A native of Illinois, Dr. Tunick completed his formal education in California. He holds a master's degree in counseling from San Francisco State University, and a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California. His service in the field of American public education includes more than 30 years as teacher, counselor and administrator, both in the United States and with the Dependents Schools of the U.S. military forces in Europe.

The author embraced the Bahá'í Faith in 1989 and served as a member of six different Local Spiritual Assemblies, two of them first-time Bahá'í communities. He and Joy served three years as pioneers in Costa Rica. After two years as an Auxiliary Board assistant in Oregon, he helped establish a Bahá'í School in Belmont, California, and served as its director for one year. The Tunicks are serving as homefront pioneers in Florence, Oregon.
