Sun Up to Sun Down is a compilation of poems, prose and short stories that deal with issues that we face in life. Whether it is losing someone from separation or death, facing challenges in our lives due to being overweight or overwhelmed, understanding our faith or sharing it with others, confronting the dark history of America or the beauty of America, Sun Up to Sun Down has something for you.

Sun Up to Sun Down was written to be read silently as well as orally. It will make you laugh and make you cry. But most importantly, it will make you think. The words are simple and easy to understand, yet, deliver messages that will touch each of us, whether we are young, old or in between.

About the Author

Evett L. Simmons is a native of Fernandina Beach, Florida. She graduated from Florida Southern College located in Lakeland, FL in 1975 with two majors, one of which was English. She went on to law school at Mercer University in Macon, GA and has been a lawyer since 1982. She has an honorary doctor of laws degree from Suffolk University, in Boston, MA. She is a partner in the Florida based law firm of Ruden, McClosky. Ms. Simmons has done a considerable amount of public speaking and has written articles for several publications. She has held a number of leadership positions including the presidency of the National Bar Association and Chair of the American Bar Association Council on Diversity. In addition to practicing law, she is president of Unity Property Development Corporation, Inc., a small successful real estate development corporation.
