About the Book
A trio of aliens from Planet Brud survive a crash on the mountainside of a retired encyclopedia salesman, Proctor John. He discovers he can talk to them by a kind of mental imaging, and sustains their ionic balance by mineral baths. Enter Hummon Madvig, a rascally ex-friend of Proctor's, who quickly sees commercial possibilities in the visitors. In Las Vegas, Hummon saves the "bacon" of Ed Bagge, chairman of the "Demopublican" party in Fresno, who is looking for a darkhorse candidate for governor of California. Hummon wrangles an invitation for "Solon Brud" to address the next banquet of the "Ancient and Loyal Order of the Ox", the Fresno base of the Demopublicans. "Solon," as well as "daughter Eve" and "son Adam" are fitted with false stomachs and talking devices so they can spout a series of platitudes that win the hearts of the Oxen. Enter Lilah Flinders, Proctor's deranged ex-wife, who is out on pass from the loony bin by her lascivious doctor. And enter Mr. Lynx, a power broker, who helps Solon win the governorship, and even aspires to having a president totally in his control. Hummon makes with a bundle of state funds, and Proctor is sentenced to thirty years in state prison. Needless to say, the plot thickens from there.
About the Author

He writes to pass on the only thing he knows for sure, that art offers the best chance to catch a soul.
