About the Author

Reginald Ray Knouse was born in Titusville, Florida on May 30, 1933. His early life was spent in Miami, Florida.

In 1940 the family moved to Tampa, Florida. At age seventeen Reginald joined the U.S. Navy. After boot camp Reginald was assigned to the Atlantic Fleet, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Mindoro, CVE 120. He was placed in the navigation division for training as a ship navigator. He later went to Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia.

Reginald received an honorable discharge on July 15, 1954. He returned to Tampa, Florida three weeks later. At age twenty-one, he was married to his secret childhood sweetheart, Mary Lou Beaird.

In 2006 Reginald and Mary Lou celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. They have three children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Mary Lou was mostly a stay-at-home mom, while Reginald worked in the automobile business from which he is now retired after fifty-two years.

Reginald developed a self-improvement course in 1983, which he and his wife taught for twenty-three years. Reginald now writes a column for four Texas daily newspapers. This is his second book, his first being the class manual for their self-improvement course.
