About the Book
Bad Rap introduces sexy Private Investigators Angelica Joy Smith (a former NYC Detective) and Briana Marquee Watson (former supermodel) and the misadventure they encounter when they take on the case of a noted rapper Phenom who someone is attempting to extort. "A.J." and "Beamer" have spent the last two years revitalizing Beamer's late Uncle Smitty's Watson Investigations. Changing the agencies name to Smith and Watson Private Investigations and taking on a more prestigious clientele, yet never forgetting the little guy. One day they could be following a Wall Street trader as he plans a clandestine tryst with his mistress, tracking down rich runaway teens, running background checks on trophy wives or finding Ms. Jones (Uncle Smitty's former neighbor) lost cat.
Mystic, CT has always been a favorite weekend getaway for A.J. and her former partner Detective Stephen Johnson whom she resisted for years. While away they always stayed in separate accommodations and drove separate cars to their desired destination. When he hit the lottery he upheld his promise to "take care of her" and gave her $500,000 and built himself a fabulous home in Stonington, CT near the Stonington Vineyards. A.J. invested the money in completing the renovations on a waterfront property she and Beamer purchased in New London, CT. When Stephen told A.J he was leaving the job, A.J. took him to the Waterview Inn at Old Saybrook in CT to celebrate where she promptly screwed him in every way she had always fantasized and masturbated about. Much to his chagrin she wasn't ready to settle down as she was very secure financially and loved to travel, whereas he was a homebody.
Meanwhile, Beamer and the honorable Judge Michael Murphy were having the best sex of her life her orgasms were powerful and frightening. Michael was an older widower she had just broken off an engagement to a race car driver who was too hung up on groupies. Beamer walked away like the engagement never happened. Her motto was "you don't want me I don't want you", Next!!! She had the balls of a guy and never got attached to any one man and although she had plenty of admirers she only had a select few lovers. She was in the judges capable hand for now, that was until the ultra sexy Police Liaison Mikel Haasan appears on the scene and literally makes her see stars at his cottage in the woods.
The rapper Phenom calls A.J. after one of their elite clients recommended he do so and a meeting is set. A.J "spidey sense" (a foul odor she detects whenever trouble is brewing) is on high alert soon after she talks to the rapper. He has been sent an X-rated disc of his sister Mimi, her best friend Larissa and deceased basketball player Davis Ducal and is expecting to be contacted regarding the payoff to keep the disc from reaching the media. After reluctantly taking the case, the entire Smith & Watson team goes to the rappers party in Connecticut to celebrate the introduction of his new Bloo Vodka and new sneaker line. The rapper is contacted by the blackmailers who appear to want to not only extort him but humiliate him as well and the adventure begins.
The ladies get their snoop on, their dance on and their freak on. Follow as they work to solve the case after an attempt to catch the extortionist is foiled and things get real grimy.
About the Author
Something new, fresh and exciting is what crime/adventure lovers everywhere are yearning for. New author Regina Hale Grady has this and much more to offer readers.
While working in law enforcement Regina would often take leave to assist her friends on several creative projects. Acting as production assistant, casting coordinator and craft services she was completely enthralled with the creative process. The inspiration to write hit Regina like a ton of bricks in 2000. Invited to the Acapulco Black Film Festival by best friend Cedra Walton to assist on the production of a documentary about the festival film makers, Regina was inspired by the interviews of several noted actors and independent film makers. "I admired them for taking a chance and doing something they loved."
The author adores reading private investigator/detective series and has always wanted to writer a book. On the plane ride home from the festival it occurred to Regina that there weren't any novels about a team of female private investigators and wrote the synopsis for Bad Rap. Among a few of her favorite character driven series are author John Sander's Detective Lucas Davenport, James Patterson's Agent Alex Cross, Johnathan Kellerman's Dr. Alex Delaware, Sue Grafton's Private Investigator Kinsey Millhone and Michael Connelly's Detective Harry Bosch.
After several set backs Regina regrouped by taking a "Developing Your Character", "Writing Erotica" and "Writing the Private Eye" course. As a result of her resolve Regina Hale Grady has arrived with an original story that offers witty narratives, quirky characters, misadventure and incredibly hot sex appeal.
Regina Hale Grady now resides in Jamaica Estates, NY with her husband Rick E. Grady where they run a small business. When she and Rick aren't exploring sandy beaches of the Caribbean they often visit some of their favorite Bed and Breakfasts in Connecticut. This is her first self-published effort and she is currently at work on the sequel to Bad Rap, Bad Island, a children's book and a documentary entitled Daddy?.
