About the Book
The tell all story of Loretta Williams Handy, her days on the road with the late great Otis Redding and how she found a new life in Christ. "I lived on the devil's side and did pretty good," says Loretta. "Now I'm on God's side and I'm doing even better."
About the Author
Evangelist Loretta Handy's career spans from a long line of singing, Gospel and rhythm and blues. Since her career started back in the 1960's when she traveled with the famous Otis Redding 28 piece band and show, where she recorded her first hit record at the Atlantic Record Studio in New York City where her songs called (Missing You & Baby Cakes ) made the charts and was featured in the famous Hit Parade Magazine.
Evangelist Loretta Handy has traveled throughout this country singing on many famous stages such as the great Appollo Theatre and the Howard Theatre in Washington D. C. Sis. Handy has sang with many great and famous artist of the secular world and now she has given her entire life to Christ where she has been blessed to put out to the public three great pieces of work, her first Gospel album, (Second Chance), which features top notch songs and arrangements produced at the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals Alabama by the well known producer Mr. Butch McGhee who also produced the "Clarke Sisters" first hit album. Evangelist Handy has performed on stage with the Doctor Bobby Jones on his show, and other shows, along with Luther Barnes, Candi Staton, Steve Brock, Alvin Slaughter, Carlton Pearson, Evangelist Gene Martin, The Gospel Music Workshop of America in Washington DC, Miami, Fla., New Orleans, La., in New York on stage with Darryl Coley, Tremaine Hawkins, the Hawkins Family, Ben Tankard and many other performers, she was a regular on the TBN Christian Broadcasting TV programming for 3 years or more on which she will be performing there very soon again.
Sis Handy has a single out called (Back To The Altar) which was sold throughout the Apostolic churches to over 50 churches as a church project, she now has a great new CD out which mixes some of her old song along with the newly recorded (The World We Share & We Will Stand) which is being sold on Amazon.com and in many stores and being played throughout the country being distributed by the Sharpe Record label out of Atlanta, Georgia. Evangelist Handy gives God all the praise and glory to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for her talents and her singing and preaching career. Evangelist Handy is the assistant and Co-Pastor to her husband at the Second Chance Full Gospel Outreach Church in Mobile, Alabama, where she preaches and sings and does a great work for the Lord. She is in the process of getting her book published called (The Woman Who Lived Twice), which tells of her life story which she wrote over 12 years ago, and feels now is the time for the book to come forth that tells of her life on the road, with the bands and her tragic accident that helped to change her life and made her want to give up the old worldly life and live a new life for Christ. The story of how she had a second chance given to her when Otis Redding didn't get that second chance when he violently perished in that plane crash in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1968.
Sis Handy has many upcoming engagements planned, she is a regular singer that performs for the American Leadership Conferences, in cities all over the USA.
