About the Book
Virginia is passionate about testimony. She feels that large parts of the Christian Church today are sadly impoverished by the loss of testimony which used to be such a vital element in worship. During the past 5 years Virginia has thrilled at the testimonies she has heard when attending a Christian Coffee Club in Matlock, England, and has seen how others have been uplifted and helped by them. These wonderful testimonies were mostly from very ordinary people in whose lives God had worked His daily miracles of grace. When Virginia heard His voice saying 'tell your story' she knew instantly that this was what she must do, write her testimony of how God had worked in her life - the life of an ordinary person. This she has done, using for God the inherited gift of writing handed down through at least 3 generations of journalism in her family. Her story is about many difficulties God has brought her through, prayer He has answered, and guidance He has given her when the way ahead was shrouded in mystery. She tells of those who have been brought into her life as part of God's care and plan for her, giving sacrificially of their time - and the experiences which have helped shape who she has become. This is important reading for those who think that Christianity is just about attending Sunday worship, who have not experienced God's care in their everyday lives, nor the joy of walking with Him minute by minute, day by day.
About the Author
Until she became a Christian Virginia led an interesting but unstable life, flitting from one job to another without settling well in any of them. Some were important and, despite lack of formal training, she was able to use to good effect the gift of writing she had inherited from her family. Her interest in the community at large was where she started to come alive, particularly when she became involved in politics, first as a volunteer campaigner, then a Town Councillor and in part-time local work for a Member of Parliament. After her conversion, she was amazed at the way in which God used all her past experience to equip her for what He then called her to do. On becoming a Methodist Local Preacher the gift of writing again came into its own, this time in the preparation of sermons. At last she became stable and found her home within the love of God. From then her life took on a new meaning and a completely new dimension.
