About the Book
The manuscript, An Artist and a Tree (both born and grown in Brooklyn, New York) is a biography of the Artist from the time she became an artist up to her final departure from our world. Her name was Erin Trudy Palmer. It started with her meeting and the marriage to Joseph G. Palmer. It was a great love that lasted for the rest of her life. Her husband noted that his wife was excelling on designing sketches from fashion magazines and casually reproducing faces or human figures. Joe had connections in Italy and found some paid cultural and professional activity to last a year and a half, in Bologna and Milan, Italy. Once there, a request for canvas and oil paint was asked by Erin T. Sure Enough, inspired by the exciting artistic surroundings, she started to paint like an expert. No schooling, but she was born an artist without knowing it. From there, it has shown all the great happenings in the pages written.
Erin T. Palmer did not search for the fame in great style while she was alive. She deserves to be known for what she was, a great woman, artist, an American, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother.
Ideas about the content are summarized. The hand of the destiny made possible the encounter of Trudy with Joe in Manhattan. Their sudden love and marriage was followed by their Italian adventure with two stops in Paris, France. Erin Trudy was reborn as an artist in Europe. The recognition was given by a master, an expressionist from Paris. He was a friend of Pablo Picasso. When back in New York, an art gallery was opened in a high class enclave. The exposure of Trudy’s work was examined by a top New York art critic. A promising article was in the New York Press. Trudy was defined, “a true expressionist.”
A world traveling life influenced exotic art work. Her capture of the sea’s waves was transfixed onto her canvas. Landscapes, seascapes, studies of figures, and much more were produced. Narrated are a dangerous court trial, bravado over the Iron Curtain, and a dioxin contamination. Amusing happenings are also included.
