About the Book
Ode to Joy: Making Sense of Enlightenment takes us on a journey from this world of limitation to what lies beyond. At once personal and universal in scope, the book examines, and then takes us past, the barriers we set in our way. It presents to us a consistent alternative to the dreary world of limitation and obligation that we believe in so fervently. For the news is, in fact, extremely good news: we are eternal and infinitely powerful; we are guiltless and loved beyond our greatest imagining. There is nothing we must do to get to this state, for we are already there! We just need to drop the illusions we ourselves have placed, the illusions that prevent our seeing this.
Ode to Joy: Making Sense of Enlightenment examines these illusions, and by shining light on them, allows us to drop them. It draws from many spiritual traditions, and from philosophy, psychology and metaphysics. The author makes extensive reference to A Course In Miracles, as one of the most consistent and complete revelations available to us. Those familiar with ACIM will find much of value, as the ideas within the Course are examined and integrated with other teachings.
The truth we seek is always available. It is we who deny it. The world we see, the weary and wearying world of the ego, has its own internal consistency. We use this consistency daily in defence of this world that imprisons us. Ode to Joy: Making Sense of Enlightenment is for those who find this consistency so convincing that they are unable to break free. It is for those who yearn for a world beyond this, who feel in their heart that such a world must be possible, but who find their "Yes, but's..." holding them back. It is for those who long for a world that is meaningful rather than meaningless, limitless rather than limited; a world of infinite freedom rather than of imprisonment; in short, a world of joy, rather than a world of fear and tragedy. Ode to Joy shows us that this alternative world view is just as consistent as the world of the ego, and that this world is available to you now.
About the Author
JP Chyne became a medical practitioner to bring healing to others, and practised for many years. Progressively, however, he found that medicine was inherently limited. Suffering and death persisted regardless. Feeling in his heart that it was not meant to be this way, that we were not created to suffer and die, he began to search for an alternative. So began ten years of investigating fields as diverse as spirituality and science, metaphysics and mysticism, psychology and philosophy. A pattern began to emerge, a way out of this world of fear and limitation, to a new world of infinite ability to create our own experience. In clarifying his understandings, a book emerged: Ode to Joy: Making Sense of Enlightenment. This book is a blueprint of a new way of thinking.
And the author? With Ode to Joy published, he is now embarking on living the blueprint, a life whose center is joy, not fear. Healing remains his chosen path, but healing that is meaningful, not futile; eternal, not ephemeral. He sees his life as a tool for healing, and so, as he makes the transition, he will bring his experiences to others in a forthcoming book, demonstrating that the path to joy is possible.
