About the Book
Allan Horsfield obeyed the unexpected call of God to go to an unknown Church in a small mountain town in Central Bulgaria. His Heavenly instruction was to "go to the Church in Troyan and pray for them; and also go to the Hospital."
From 1998 to 2002 he travelled three or four times each year, sometimes alone and sometimes with Church colleagues. He found himself welcomed into dozens of homes, as well as School, Orphanage, Hospital, and even Prison. His main work was meeting with and praying for Christians in the Troyan Churches. So many miraculous healings took place that even the Hospital Director announced to his colleagues that many unexplained recoveries were due to the providence of God.
Allan was also invited into many homes among the Christian and Turkish Gypsy communities. Here he encountered medical problems that involved prayer and sometimes medical assistance as well: the Deaf and Dumb Gypsy woman who heard her own voice for the first time: the three year old Gypsy boy given only months to live, but whose life was saved through prayer and the miraculous intervention of Novartis in Switzerland.
The book describes in easily readable language the stories of many ordinary people whose lives were changed forever. Allan gives an honest account, not afraid to share his failings and failures. In all this God was revealing to him new ways of understanding how Jesus stills heals today. There are valuable insights here not only for the believing Christian, but also for those who counsel and pray for others, and those who long to see deeper healing and renewal in the life of the Church.
