About the Book

A sometimes intense memoir from the Midwest, Seasons in the Sun invites the reader to follow Sue through ten days in her life that include; her college graduation, the Christmas celebration with her family, her experience of finding out that her father has suffered a massive heart attack and has died, and the chaos that follows.

After the in-depth look at the feelings and emotions she experiences during these events the reader is able to see how she processes the loss and gleans strength from memories from of the past. Flashbacks throughout the story reveal special moments in the narrator's life that culminated to create the wonderful relationship between a father and daughter.

Through this hero's journey the narrator experiences hardship and the loss of parental guidance to fully come into her own. A love story in its own right, this book looks at love from a unique angle, that of the parent child relationship and reveals a rare portrait of the simplicity required to create a tight bond.

Seasons in the Sun describes the shattering effects of sudden death on a family and specifically a child who is coming of age. The result is a moving eulogy to life itself- a story of love and grief that in and of itself sums up the notable context of life. This story reminds us that with a loving and caring attitude a parent can reach their child and have a profound impact on their lives though simple means.
