About the Book

My Closest Friend is a warm-hearted, child-friendly story that illustrates the very special relationship between a little girl and surprisingly, herself. God has blessed her with many friends but most importantly with a special gift, the gift of herself. She is her closest friend. My Closest Friend is a simple, rhyming story created for toddlers to children of the age of 10. Its goal is to teach every child that they are special, unique and a treasured gift from God. My Closest Friend can easily assist parents, teachers and caregivers in the challenging task of enhancing our children's self-love and self-esteem, while strengthening our children's faith in God. This book captures a special spirit that should be shared with children everywhere.

About the Author

Colleen Close is the proud mother of three children and has her Master of Arts degree in Psychological Services. She has worked in a variety of settings that have emphasized good mental health and Christian values. Colleen Close has worked as a psychotherapist, a school guidance counselor, a preschool teacher and an early childhood development consultant to area churches and schools. Today, she stays at home with her children in Virginia and continues to write children's books.
