About the Book

In the vast Ramask mountain range towering above the Minarian lowlands, Culmar the hunter, makes a fantastic discovery. Hidden behind the mountain's impenetrable walls the diminutive Zulm people, after centuries living apart from man, are revealed to a warring army of human mercenaries.

A world so remote and for centuries perfectly safe and secure suddenly becomes a battlefield of butchery and destruction. Survival becomes paramount and Guards Masters are sent out from the walled city of Shaen to try and stall the oncoming evil in order to give those left in the small city time to organise a desperate last defence.

Alarmingly the Zulms find out nearly too late, the killing horde is lead by a Wizard that wears the markings of one long dead. The spawn of a former council Wizard almost forgotten in their history now plagues them with bloody revenge. Barbaric acts are performed on the small vulnerable Zulms and Culmar the human decides to help the Zulms whether they want him to or not. He knows by reputation the murderous greed by which these men are driven, and the Zulm's physical disadvantage will be their downfall.

The essence of evil will manifest itself before all who stand in the Great Hall of Learning. A few special Masters fight on but are loosing the battle. Culmar steps in and is asked the ultimate price so that others may survive, only he can perform this deadly deed and maybe thwart the twisted machinations of one dead and one living entity.

About the Author

Frederick C. Flanagan was lucky enough to live in the then beautiful costal town of Balbriggan in southern Ireland in the late fifties. And like so many people at that time, the beginning of the decade of the swinging sixties, his family emigrated to England in search of a better life.

Nearly four decades later he found writing. It was a challenge he couldn't resist. Having written several articles covering subjects like, the longest river raft race, a long piece on the historical journey and world record breaking plate-sized flower of the Dahlia, to the arid and sometimes lonely life working on a co-operative farm (Moshav) in Israel, he decided a book stirred within.

His first book, the Chamber of Masks, in the Masters of Zulm series, was completed. A severe heart attack later, he started on book two. Married with two grown up sons, he wouldn't change a single thing in his life. Well - maybe the heart attack!
