About the Book

Sequel to Jaice's Dilemma, depicting a young girl's struggle with tradition. Accordingly, throughout her early years Jaice tried hard to allay the old tradition stating that boys were better than girls who were brainless, and costly liabilities. Her parents were ambivalent about the tradition and wanted to give her a chance at a better outlook in live. However, at the slightest provocation or childhood error, Jaice was reminded of fulfilling the old prophecy. She was indeed held at a higher standard than all the males she encountered. As she grew older the traumatized girl knew in her heart that she can prove to the world that she had more creative abilities than merely catering to the male species that caused her all the tumultuous problems she experienced. Her tremendous strength, resiliency, and gumption gained through disappointments, physical and emotional abuse, mixed messages, embarrassment, estrangement, malicious threats, abandonment, tragedy and many other obstacles equipped her to conquer the deadly poisonous thorns, and capture The Elusive Rose embedded within.

About the Author

Joyce Thomas, Ed.D was born on a small island in the Caribbean. At a very early age she was driven to conquer seemingly impossible obstacles for mere survival. Balancing between the caring for a large family and higher academia, she was able to earn several degree levels in education. She now lives in suburbia New York. She is an ardent worker and advocate for children who are lost or left behind; opening her home to accommodate several who arrived at her door. She is an educator and devoted mother who spends her very limited spare time to attend to the needs of her students and family. Her ultimate wish is to open a facility for impoverished, lost, and special needs children who are often left behind.
