About the Book
Two Lithuanian youths get caught up in the occupation of their homeland by German troops during World War II and the subsequent replacement of those tropps by Russian forces in the war's aftermath. The youths embark on a sustained program of retaliation through the evil of terrorism.
when they attack two innocent tourists they set off a chain reaction that spans three decades, involves law enforement agencies from a number of countries and sees them link forces with a branch of the Italian mafia. The common enemy becomes the United States of America which had pledged assistance world-wide to regions of oppresion but had been slow to deliver in its promises.
The final acts are played out in Rome, involving relatives of those two tourists and attempts by the Lithuanians to blow-up the American Embassy.
The story is fast-paced and is the author's first book.
About the Author
John Shumack was educated in Canberra and Hobart Australia before becoming a senior executive with a number of Australian companies. He has travelled extensively overseas, particularly in S.E. Asia and his business experience covers a wide range of activities. Prior to retirement in Tasmania with his wife Margaret he consulted in the field of strategic management in both Australia and Asia. Two of his three children live in Perth, on Australia's west coast and the eldest resides in Tasmania
This is his first book.
