About the Book
Anatomy of this book
A man is himself—plus the books he reads.
LIONS@WORK is a practical, educational, easy-to-use guide to inspire and guide you to the pinnacle of personal and financial success. Above all, it is an attitude, a reference guide, so you can use any part, as many times, as a situation requires.
Over many years it has fascinated me why some individuals and organizations are more successful and accomplish more than others. I have spent many hours and large amounts of money searching for answers. I have learned the hard way — through trial and error. When I eventually discovered some of the secrets, it was not clear how to conceptualize these into an easily understandable, more teachable, model. I wanted to create something unequivocal — more focus, research and persistence — until one day it was clear.
LIONS at WORK or LIONS@WORK
I realized we could learn an amazing amount from the strength, power, beauty and grace of the lion, if only I could link these to our work lives. As time passed and I gained a better understanding of our business world and that of the lion, the picture evolved. The parallels between humans, lions and the pride will help you to remember and develop skills vital for survival and growth.
You don’t have to take a lifetime to discover these secrets: You only have to read and apply these principles. It’s not rocket science and they don’t teach this in business schools, therefore everyone can understand and apply these principles.
A single conversation with a wise man is worth more than ten years’ mere study of books.
