About the Author
Henry started coaching on the school bus at the age of 12, when she discovered one of her friends in tears over the recent death of her mother. When everyone else was ignoring this girl, Henry simply took her hand and sat and listened. Together, the two children grieved and giggled, and plotted and planned to make their adolescent goals and dreams come true. But it was 30 years before Henry became a professional coach and got paid money for doing it. In the decades in between, Henry inhabited three careers. The first was in import and export where she traveled the world and developed a fear of flying. The second was in sales and marketing where Henry ÔreppedÕ in retail accounts and never learned how to park her company car. She either abandoned it or passed her keys to a complete stranger. The third was in learning and development where she was usually one chapter Ð and sometimes only one page Ð ahead of her corporate delegates. It was during this period that Henry re-discovered her ability to get to the heart of the matter, and help people to move steadily forward with their lives. She sums up her coaching as Òa cross between an sounding board and a suggestion box Ð where the conversation is objective and challenging, yet warm and empathicÓ. Now combining life-coaching and business coaching with Òwriting on the sideÓ, Henry plans to spend the next 50 years on her latest career Ð Òsitting and listening, grieving and giggling, plotting and planning, and helping to make peopleÕs goals and dreams come trueÓ
