About the Book

The almost farcical account of a few days in the life of an innocent man acutely aware of himself and of those around him. His last day at work as a travelling salesman proves rather nerve-wracking and being accident-prone too is slightly problematical, but that's no serious handicap as Gregory allows events to take their course as he observes every detail like the reluctant conductor of a crazy orchestra and in whose mind any discord naturally resolves itself.

This is Gregory's chant; we see events through his observations to which he often gives a musical interpretation, and although he feels at times rather awkward, he exudes peace and irreverence!

It's best to read the book slowly to take in the subtleties of language and associations of ideas that Gregory makes, and to understand the various fixations of those he meets.

This book contains no violence or strong language, and no animals were annoyed suring the writing of the book. Any similarity between between any of the characters and any people or cats, living or dead, should be regarded as kindly meant!
