About the Book
Margretta Schleich has collected and perfected recipes for over fifty years. Following her retirement as a Social Worker she began writing short stories and hints which enhanced the cookbooks. Her family and friends suggested she formally publish the collection so more people could share the good food and wisdom.
This collection has hints, tips, and stories of interest for the novice cook and the experienced. The glossary helps teach techniques and explain reactions. The Index of Ingredients helps find other recipes that will use leftovers in another recipe.
The first cookbook, “COMFORT FOODS AND POTLUCK: Grannie Gretta’s Collection of Salads, Soups, Stews, and Covered Dishes” received great reviews. It was an entrant in The 2005 James Beard Annual Cookbook Competition.
Like the first of five cookbooks, SWEET STUFF has been designed to remain open when placed on the counter. The false spine allows the reader to find it on the shelf. This book is the first of a series.
