About the Author

Joseph D. Hayes received his Masters of Science in Community Counseling from Texas A&M Commerce in 1997. He has worked nine years as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. During this time he has developed multiple expertise in working with clients. His work experience began in an out-patient substance abuse treatment facility. There he received vast experience in working with addiction and other mental issues with both court and volunteer cliental. This experience was valuable to Mr. Hayes in that he acquired many skills that laid the foundation of his counseling practice today. There he experienced a unique program called Intensive Intervention Diverse Program. This was a program that he was allowed to assist in group leadership, alternative activities, long term treatment vs. short term treatment therapies, alternative group techniques and individual counseling treatment of cliental. Working with this population allowed Mr. Hayes to treat many different areas of the human psyche with the supervision by Curt Pitton MA. Mr. Hayes has also has had the privilege of serving as a counselor in an In-Patient hospital for children with mental illness. During this work experience, Mr. Hayes has performed a lot of services through his Private Practice. Today he still works performing services through his full time private practice. He takes pride in his accomplishments, especially considering that for a couple of years he was a high school drop out. Upon getting his life back on track, he went back to school to graduate with a high school diploma at the age of twenty. Through all that he has accomplished, he expresses his most important job is raising and living with his two children as a single father. He holds many certifications, including National Certified Counselor (NCC), Anger and Depression Specialist, and is certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
