About the Book

Who do men say that you are? Jesus said in Mark 12:31,...Love your neighbor as yourself. The power of messages given by an authoritative person in ones early childhood can impact our values and belief system if we embrace the messages as truth. If the messages we base our lifes decisions on are not in sync with Gods message of love and forgiveness, we set ourselves up for emotional and spiritual turbulence. This book focuses on understanding what Christ meant by love, and more specifically, what He meant by self-love.

I believe the concept of self-love has been misunderstood by many. This book will look closely at what Jesus meant by love as it relates to our emotional and spiritual developmental process. I believe that learning to love ourselves means we forgive ourselves, which enables us to forgive others. This will revolutionize our perspective on loving our neighbor, and ultimately, in finding intimacy with God. It seems to me that all to often, a persons spiritual and emotional turmoil is because of their inability to love themselves. A person who has a meanness of spirit towards themselves will not have a healthy ability to love others, and certainly not have intimacy with Christ. This book will spend time identifying the process of freedom and healing. Jesus has given usresources to use, but it is up to us whether we choose to use those resources or not. He has left us an example of how to live that will lead to emotional health and spiritual freedom.

About the Author

Bobbie Watson is mostly just very ordinary like you. She is first and foremost a wife of thirty-seven years, mother of two grown sons and a (nana) with four grandchildren. At the present age of fifty nine years old, her lifes journey has led her into many venues such as a professional registered nurse, pastors wife for ten years, fourth grade teacher, piano teacher and many informal counseling relationships. She is passionate about reading and studying scripture, especially contemplative authors. She loves jogging, walking, and swimming.

She has written this book as a result of her own journey and experience with those who seem to be missing a piece to the life puzzle...how do we live in peace and joy that Christ seemed to think we can have on this side of heaven? She and her husband, Phil, went to Kenya, Africa this past summer and she did seminars on this subject matter of love and forgiveness. During her time in Africa, God confirmed to her that this is a topic that needs to be addressed.

She presently lives in Bakersfield with her husband, Phil.
