About the Book

Serafine is a young student in Denmark when she gradually becomes friends with a strange old man, a neighbour living alone, deep in the woods. He is different from anyone she has ever known. Their unusual friendship grows, based on the old man's wisdom of his ancestors and his hidden knowledge of the past.

Unexpectedly, Bernard is killed by a fire that burns down his house. The police shrug it off as an accident, but Serafine knows Bernard was murdered. She is left with a mysterious object from Bernard to be delivered to his family in Canada as quickly as possible.

The unusual delivery, the last request of the old man, starts as a sightseeing trip. But things take an unexpected turn when it becomes apparent that somebody wants to steal the object and is willing to do anything to get it.

The terrifying chase takes Serafine to the homeland of the old man's relatives, to ancient truths of tribal belonging, and to surprising insights about her own identity. Led by her heart and soul, the journey takes her into a sacred and mysterious world where the links between past and future, the seen and unseen realms, become clear. Serafine explores astonishing dimensions of life, and at the same time, she takes the reader on a thrilling adventure.

An entertaining, mystical adventure, filled with spiritual wisdom and thrilling events.
