About the Author

Dr. David Hume is a well-known local historian and writer. He worked as a local journalist with the Morton Newspaper group for 15 years, writing a regular weekly history column over 13 of those years. He lectures on a part-time basis on history and writes a monthly column in The Ulster Scot newspaper. A natice of Ballycarry, County Antrim, he is an Honorary Citizen of Clover, South Carolina, and is an active member of a number of community groups in his local area. His leisure interests include readin, writing, listening to music and photography. David Hume is married with three sons.
